Description
DigiStor-MP
is a 99-message MPEG digital audio recorder that can
store up to 20 minutes of monaural audio with a bandwidth
of 15 kHz. DigiStor-MPs multiple modes of use
make it ideal for numerous applications in broadcasting,
telecommunications, and commercial sound: network news
delay, station or translator ID and local insert, message-on-hold,
news and actuality lines, call-in telephone information,
museum exhibits & displays, sound effects, announcements,
etc.
DigiStor-MP
can store up to 99 messages which can be random-accessed
and played in any order. Multiple playback modes support
one-time or repeat play, plus automatic sequencing and
message stacking. Messages can be different
lengths, and can be selectively recorded (or changed)
without having to re-record other messages. Messages
are stored in non-volatile flash memory and are retained
even if power is off. (No backup battery needed.) Recording
and playback is via local or remote control. The first
8 messages are remotely accessible via GPI interface
(contact closures). All 99 messages can be accessed
either locally or remotely via an optional GPI interface,
and can be recorded and played via the integral RS232
interface. DigiStor-MP can record from either a mic
or line level source. The unit records audio in MP3
format, but can play MPEG files recorded in Layer I,
II, or III formats. MPEG files recorded on a PC can
be imported via RS232 for playback.
Two
relays are included for control and message signaling.
The primary relay can be programmed to either remain
closed during message playback (or record), or generate
a momentary pulse at the end of playback (Auto-EOM
mode). The secondary cue relay can be programmed to
generate a momentary pulse at any time during or after
any message playback. An optional automatic tele-coupler
permits DigiStor-MP to be connected to a phone line
for auto-answer and message playback to a caller. DigiStor-MP
can be rack-mounted with the optional rack mount kit.
